All of a sudden, one of the hottest teams in the NHL is ... the St. Louis Blues.

With a 4-0 win over the Ducks on Sunday night in Anaheim, the Blues won their fourth straight game to extend a season-long win streak. The Blues are now 5-1-0 since returning from the Olympic break.

Jordan Kyrou, Jonathan Drouin, Jimmy Snuggerud and Pius Suter (empty-net) scored for the Blues, and Joel Hofer made 22 saves in his fifth shutout of the season. Hofer's five shutouts are the second-most in the NHL.

As recently as Tuesday, the Blues had the second-worst record in the league. But in sweeping a road trip through Seattle, San Jose and Anaheim, the Blues (59 points) are up to 28th in the league, creeping up on Winnipeg (62) and Nashville (64) and Los Angeles (64).

The last time the Blues won at least four games in a row was last season when St. Louis won a franchise-record 12 in a row.

The Blues have 19 games remaining this season, continuing with Tuesday's home date against the Islanders, when former captain Brayden Schenn will make his return to St. Louis after he was traded on Friday.

Bouncing back

Kyrou led the Blues in both shots on goal (5) and shot attempts (9) on Sunday, two nights after he was benched in the third period and overtime against the Sharks. In San Jose, Kyrou logged just 10:34, his lowest non-injury-related ice time of the season. He played only one shift in the third period, which ended with 16:57 remaining in the third.

Kyrou had his chances early on, including a rebound on the doorstep that was stopped by the post in the first period. He scored at 4:22 of the second period on the rush, leading a 3 on 1 and then ripping a shot from the right wing through former Blues goaltender Ville Husso.

It was Kyrou's 15th goal of the season.

Sunday night was Kyrou's second bounce back from a public benching this season. In November, Kyrou was scratched for a game in Buffalo. The next game against Seattle, Kyrou scored and had four shots on goal and six shot attempts.

Kyrou was humming going into the break, with 15 points in 12 games heading into the Olympics, but struggled to regain that form in March. His goal Sunday was just his second point in the six games since the Olympics.

Complete game

For just the second time this season, the Blues outshot their opponent in all three periods on Sunday night. They held 13-7, 13-8 and 9-7 advantages in each period, the first time since Jan. 29 against the Panthers that the Blues were not outshot in any period.

In outscoring the Ducks 3-0 during the second period, the Blues had a plus-3 margin in the second period for the second time this season (also Jan. 13 vs. Carolina).

The Blues were 1 for 3 on the power play thanks to Drouin's goal. They also were a perfect 5 for 5 on the penalty kill, highlighted by three kills in the first period.

Despite a goalless scoreline at the end of the first period, the Blues controlled play and generated plenty of high-danger chances: Jake Neighbours' tip of a Justin Holl shot that went off the post, Kyrou's rebound of that shot that clipped the post, Pavel Buchnevich's shot off the crossbar while shorthanded, and Dylan Holloway's power-play chance that was stoned by Husso's left pad.

Snuggerud nearly added another goal during Sunday's third period, but it was called back after an offside challenge by Anaheim revealed Holloway was offside.

Blues debuts

Drouin and Holl played their first games in a Blues sweater on Sunday after they were acquired before the trade deadline on Friday. Drouin came from the Islanders as part of the Schenn trade, while Holl came from Detroit as part of the Justin Faulk deal.

Drouin played left wing on a line with Pius Suter and Pavel Buchnevich, and Holl was on the third pair with Tyler Tucker.

Drouin scored at 10:07 of the second period after Tucker drew a high-sticking penalty (it was actually his own stick that caught him up high). Philip Broberg slid the puck to Drouin in the right circle, and he pumped a one-timer for his first goal since Nov. 14. It snapped a 38-game goal drought.

Holl received his welcome to the Blues when Tucker stood up for him following Ross Johnston's major boarding penalty on Holl. Tucker dropped the gloves with Johnston, receiving an instigator penalty in addition to his fighting major.
