Tail of a Retrograde

Holiday Mathis on

On the last day of Saturn's retrograde, the lessons planet will remind us of the nature of learning itself. When we burden the educational process with a lot of expectations, like a tight deadline, a financial bottom-line or other time-bound mark of development, we won't learn as well. To learn without these pressures makes the process a lot more fruitful and fun.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Once you figure out the motivations of others, you can manage your scene much more effectively. A few good questions will crack the code wide open. Don't ask too many though; be strategic. It just takes the right ones.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). There are many who want your time, money and attention. And though money maybe the easiest thing to keep track of, attention and time are the more valuable commodities, and you will protect them accordingly.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). At first you do a thing out of love. Then you repeat it because an expectation has been erected. After a few rounds, duty and obligation factor in. The question of the day: How can you return to your original intent?

CANCER (June 22-July 22). Each person's experience of life is distinct. You work the day different from the ones around you, and your way is valid. You have your reasons for going about things in this manner. You'll change it up when you're good and ready to.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your needs are specific. Some get them right away; others never will. Keeping the right people close will make your life easy. Even so, stay open-minded, because the best help can come from unexpected places.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). A bothersome feeling is holding you back. The good news is, all you have to do is release it. Change the story. Tell it to yourself in a new way. Once unencumbered by the heavy weight of this feeling, you will rocket toward your goals.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). There is no point in trying to fix circumstances that are beyond your control. Test the waters and see if your slight nudge makes a difference. If not, it's a sign that there are better ways to spend your time. You'll win the day by finding the part you can affect.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). There's a long list of things you need to do to keep your various relationships, roles and responsibilities in order. Even so, giving quality attention to yourself will be among the most important appointments to keep.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). You'll do the job just as you did before, but now it suddenly seems wrong. It's because the world has changed, and so have you. The awareness that you're not the same person you were is the start of a beautiful chapter.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). There's an offer on the table. Though you have time to decide, the longer you deliberate, the less enthusiastic the other party will be about the deal. So think fast, factor all the elements in and come to a conclusion.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). It is often the case that the one in charge has authority but limited knowledge. It's an opportunity for those who know more to assist or influence. You'll do a respectful kind of dance to find out the real deal.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). People who are larger than life will figure into your day. Dealing with these types takes more energy, but they give more energy, too. When you involve them in your world, all trends in a more exciting and interesting direction.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Nov. 14). Passion flares and fireworks punctuate your solar year. Devotion to an ideal will drive you to quest, and you'll be joined by hard workers and brilliant thinkers. More highlights: You'll ink two significant deals. You'll move your work into new territories. A dear one represents you well; apply what you teach and uphold shared ideals, advancing your mutual interests for the group prize. Libra and Aquarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 2, 24, 33, 18 and 45.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: As the longest-serving heir apparent in British history, King Charles III's journey to the throne has been marked by patience and resilience -- key traits of his zodiac sign. Known for his outspoken views on environmental issues, architecture and sustainable farming, his hands-on approach to advocacy makes him a forward-thinking leader, balancing the stoic responsibilities of monarchy with his more personal, progressive causes -- like a Scorpio.
