NEW YORK — ABC’s “The View” announced Monday that its new season will begin Sept. 8 despite warnings from the White House that the long-running day time show’s days may be numbered.

“Ok people, the countdown is on to an all new season of ‘The View, the most watched Emmy-nominated number one daytime talk show,” the show’s hosts collectively announced in a promo posted Monday.

The show went on hiatus July 28 shortly after panelist Joy Behar accused President Donald Trump of being defined by his jealousy of his predecessor Barack Obama.

“[Behar] should self-reflect on her own jealousy of President Trump’s historic popularity before her show is the next to be pulled off air,” White House spokesman Roger Taylor told Entertainment Weekly.

The Trump administration has aggressively harassed television networks whose hosts mock the president, who celebrated CBS’ decision to part ways with “The Late Show” host Stephen Colbert, and suggested fellow comedians like Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon could be next.

Despite hopes and concerns that “The View’s” annual break might be the beginning of the end, ABC is bringing back Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, Ana Navarro and host Whoopi Goldberg for a 29th season.

Trump has described the talent on “The View” as “dumb” and “stupid” on separate occasions. It’s unclear what the show’s hosts have in store.

“This is why you should always keep coming back to ‘The View,’ ‘cuz you never know what’s going to happen,” Goldberg says in the teaser aired Monday,
