Auto review: BMW iX solves the EV comfort problem
Published in Business News
BMW’s iX model is a a luxury EV market that solves a key problem of the market segment: comfort.
The iX model’s $100K+ base price tag is par for the course in the luxury SUV market. But for that amount of money, consumers demands often surpass the quality that manufacturers deliver.
Most EV drivers mainly use their vehicles for day-trips or around town. The iX is the epitome of comfort and luxury, with low to zero road noise, excellent seat cushioning and plenty of legroom.
Powering our 2026 iX tester were the xDrive dual all-electric high performance motors, producing 650 horsepower and 811 pound-feet of torque. The iX offered three different motor options, but our top-tier tester was nothing short of EV excellence.
EV styling is unique, with futuristic aesthetics. Riding on 23-inch Aero Bicolor Individual wheels, our tester also included the executive package, which featured soft-close doors and glass controls. It also featured the Driving Assistance Professional package, which was an additional $2,550 and presented an array of safety features, including partial automated driving.
With the first three years of maintenance included in the pricing, the BMW brand and the iX model does everything it can to ensure consumer satisfaction.
Its range of 283 miles on a full charge is typical for the category and for daily users.
The iX defines luxury with a splash of M-performance, making it the cream of the crop. Delivering nicely for consumers, the iX provides a great experience in ride quality, exterior aesthetics, interior comfort and overall power.
