Mike Lester

Comic strip artist Mike Lester has been winning fans everywhere via his Washington Post comic "Mike du Jour," about the daily life of the eponymous character who also shares his name. Following the single office worker Mike about his daily life, "Mike du Jour" also features bored coworkers who make up their own problems, as well as a basset-mix named Minnie with low self-esteem.

Mike Lester himself got his start doing business-related animations for WSJ.com, distributing them under the title that would eventually go to his own comic strip. This involved both reading the Wall Street Journal and learning to animate. Besides his own comic, Lester has also won awards for his editorial cartoons. In addition, his book "A is for Salad" has been named a New York Times Best Illustrated Book.
