SANTA CLARA, Calif. — In the AFC championship game, Will Campbell looked more like himself.

He allowed just two pressures at Denver, after allowing four in each of the Patriots’ prior playoff wins. This week, the 22-year-old left tackle explained that was no coincidence.

Campbell said the AFC title game was the first time he’s felt fully healthy since returning from an MCL sprain he suffered on Nov. 23 at Cincinnati that landed him on injured reserve for all of December.

“I didn’t play for five weeks,” Campbell told reporters Tuesday. “When I did get hurt, I felt like I was playing pretty good ball. Obviously I was disappointed to get hurt. I just felt like last week (at Denver) was the first week that I felt like myself back out there. Just moving around, I had everything: my timing, everything down. I was just excited.”

Like all of his other postseason matchups, Campbell will face some formidable edge rushers against Seattle in Super Bowl LX. Seahawks defensive ends DeMarcus Lawrence, Uchenna Nwosu and Boye Mafe each recorded more than 50 pressures during the regular season, per Pro Football Focus. Lawrence and Nwosu also finished with six and seven sacks, respectively.
