MIAMI — The Heat did not get an 83-point performance from Bam Adebayo on Thursday, but they did not need one.

Despite Adebayo falling 62 points short of his Tuesday total, Miami rolled to its seventh consecutive victory, beating Milwaukee, 112-105, at the Kaseya Center in Miami behind second-year guard Pelle Larsson’s career-high 28 points.

The Heat (38-29) got off to a hot start, taking a 22-8 lead in the first quarter. Milwaukee star Giannis Antetokounmpo was the Bucks’ only offense early in the game. He took eight of Milwaukee’s first 11 shots and scored the team’s first 10 points.

But as the Bucks (27-38) started getting points from other contributors, they started to cut into the Heat’s lead. They cut into the Heat’s lead throughout the second quarter, shrinking the deficit to one point late in the first half. Milwaukee tied the game for the first time with a Myles Turner 3-pointer with 2:10 left in the half.

Miami went on an 8-0 run to end the half, pushing back out to a 59-51 lead at halftime.

The hot streak continued into the second half, as Miami started the third quarter with a 5-0 run, pushing their lead out to 13. The Heat led by double digits for most of the third quarter, but the Bucks went on a 7-0 run to make it a four-point Miami lead.

Miami once again took a large lead in the fourth quarter, and Milwaukee cut the deficit to two points after Jaime Jaquez Jr. missed a dunk and Kyle Kuzma responded with a 3. Although the Bucks fought their way back into the game multiple times and prevented the Heat from running away, Miami never trailed.

Although the Bucks stuck with the Heat late in the fourth quarter, Larsson capped a strong performance with a key 3-pointer to keep Miami ahead of Milwaukee in the final minute.

Five Degrees of Heat from Thursday night’s game:

— 1. Stay hot: The Heat kept rolling, picking up their seventh straight victory.

Miami has benefited from playing struggling teams like Brooklyn, Washington and Milwaukee. But the Heat also have wins over Houston and Detroit during this streak.

— 2. No Adebayo heroics: Two days after scoring an astounding 83 points, Adebayo did not put on a similar show against Milwaukee.

The Miami veteran scored 21 points and had eight rebounds, making six of 20 shot attempts. He scored 13 points in the fourth quarter, helping the Heat secure the win.

— 3. No Herro, no problem: With Tyler Herro out for a second straight game due to quadriceps soreness, Miami inserted Kasparas Jakucionis into the lineup.

The rookie guard responded with 18 points and five 3s. He also had seven rebounds.

— 4. Fast breaks: Miami took advantage of the fast breaks on Thursday. The Heat racked up 26 fast-break points, approaching their season-high of 31 fast-break points.

— 5. Strong night for Larsson: Larrson notched 38 minutes in Thursday’s win, and he paced the Heat in points.

The second-year guard finished the night with a team-leading 28 points, including a game-sealing 3 with 27 seconds remaining. He made nine of 14 shots and notched six assists and five rebounds.
