Steve Benson

Steve Benson's political cartoons have been described as rude, crude, and outrageous, and his editor has remarked, "A picture is worth a thousand phone calls." This straightforward and unconventional style has earned Benson both criticism and accolades -- he won the 1993 Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning, and has also received the ACLU's Practitioner of the First Amendment Award, a Rocky Mountain Emmy, and a National Headliner Award. His cartoons have appeared in newspapers for more than 20 years, as well as in such publications as Time, Newsweek, and the New York Times.

Benson is also proud to serve as a police officer reserve in his hometown and crosswalk guard at his daughter's junior high school.
