Two simply perfect gowns at the Emmys — with just the right added touches
Published in Fashion Daily News
A slew of glorious gowns turned up for the Emmy Awards this month, as one might expect; here are my two favorites of the night.
Anna Sawai, winner of outstanding lead actress in a drama series (for “Shogun”), wore a red Vera Wang dress — beautifully simple, except for one perfectly placed flounce.
And Catherine O’Hara, a presenter, went with a long-sleeved gown from Oscar de la Renta that was also a perfectly simple shape, but made from a gorgeously cobwebby silver fabric. The gown was a bit more low-key than what Moira Rose might wear, but surely O’Hara’s “Schitt’s Creek” alter ego would approve.
