Eric Clapton kicking off latest tour in Detroit

DETROIT — Guitar god Eric Clapton will perform at Little Caesars Arena on Sept. 6, promoters announced Monday.

Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via Ticketmaster.

The show is the kickoff of a six-city tour that runs through a Sept. 17 date in Kansas City. Jimmie Vaughan will open the show.

Clapton, who turns 81 this month, will be touring with a band that includes Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Sonny Emory (drums), Chris Stainton (keys), Nathan East (bass), Tim Carmon (B3 Hammond organ), Katie Kissoon (backing vocals) and Sharon White (backing vocals).

Clapton's last performance was at Little Caesars Arena in Sept. 2022.

Sept. 8: Cincinnati, Ohio (Heritage Bank Center)

Sept. 11: Chicago, Ill. (United Center)

Sept. 13: Milwaukee, Wis. (Fiserv Forum)

Sept. 15: St. Paul, Minn. (Grand Casino Arena)

Sept. 17: Kansas City, Mo. (T-Mobile Center)
