“Saturday Night Live” star Kenan Thompson is being sued for allegedly breaking the lease of a Los Angeles rental home.
The Emmy winner, 47, owes over $34,000 for the supposed breach, including $17,425 in unpaid rent for November and December, according to a lawsuit obtained by TMZ.
Speaking to the outlet, an insider said Thompson didn’t opt against paying rent on the three-bedroom property, for which he never even got the keys. After the first year, the lease was supposed to move to a monthly basis, per TMZ.
The Daily News has reached out to a representative for Thompson.
While the landlord said the comedian paid the $10,250 security deposit, he allegedly owes $871 in late fees, a $9,594 broker fee, as well as $15,750 for the difference after they had to find a replacement tenant at a reduced rent.
Thompson is also being sued for $1,000 in “legal fees recoverable under the lease,” according to TMZ.
