Michigan town to again toast 'Gilmore Girls' at third Destination Stars Hollow

DETROIT — Destination Stars Hollow, Brighton's "Gilmore Girls"-themed fan event, will return in September, organizers announced Tuesday.
The third annual event will turn downtown Brighton into an autumn paradise Sept. 25-27. Organizers were given the go-ahead Tuesday at Brighton's City Council meeting.
Destination Stars Hollow was launched in 2024 as a way for Brighton to celebrate its downtown business district by transforming itself into Stars Hollow, the fictional town from the hit TV show "Gilmore Girls."
Some 40,000 fans poured into downtown Brighton for the event, shocking organizers, who were expecting a fraction of that attendance.
The 2025 edition saw the addition of several "Gilmore Girls" castmembers, including Scott Patterson, who plays grumpy but lovable diner owner Luke, and Metro Detroit native Rose Abdoo. Attendees came to the celebration from from all over the U.S.
"Pack your bags, grab your coffee — we're headed to Stars Hollow," read an Instagram post announcing the return of the event.
Events and more are expected to be announced in the coming months, giving the non-initiated plenty of time to binge watch the series to get caught up to speed.
