Meghan, Duchess of Sussex hides love letters in Prince Harry's Christmas crackers.

The 44-year-old former actress has adopted the British tradition of exchanging crackers since she lived in the UK as a member of the royal family and she now prepares handmade, personalised versions for her husband and their two children, Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four, revealing she stuffs Harry's with a love letter, a chocolate and a paper hat.

In a holiday special episode of her Netflix series With Love, Meghan, she said: "A tradition has to have a beginning."

She added: "Living in the UK, it's just such a part of … Christmas holidays, for sure ... I really started to know them, they almost have a fortune cookie size joke or riddle and something sweet ... Typically people cross arms and do it [pull the cracker open]."

Meghan went on to reveal what she has put in Harry's cracker this year, saying: "My husband's [cracker] has a little love letter, chocolate a little hat."

She revealed that Lilibet's contains a lavender roll-on scent, adding: "Lili really likes trying to be a grown-up lady at the moment."

While Archie's cracker contains a tiny toy burger and fries. Meghan said of her son: "Now I'm on to Archie and I'm doing burgers and he loves the colour red."

During the episode, Meghan also shared her top tips for entertaining over the holidays. She said: "Try to really embrace and lean into making every day of that month special as you're wrapping up a year.

"But don't feel like you have to do it all. Just embrace the special touches that bring you joy."

The episode also features Meghan making a salad with chef Tom Collichio and the duchess revealed she would not make the dish for her husband because he dislikes most of its ingredients - beetroot, fennel, black olives and pickled vegetables.

Meghan added: "He hates all these flavours".

Harry later makes an appearance and confirms he won't be trying the salad. He said: "Oh wow that's like the anti salad. You must have known I was coming!

"Me and the salad are having this sort of eye off.

"It's amazing how there's not many things in the world that I don't like and they are all in one bowl."
