The latest iteration of DC's Man of Steel tops the DVD releases for the week of Sept. 23.

"Superman": The iconic superhero is reborn in James Gunn's vision, but with all the familiar elements in place — enemy Lex Luthor, lover Lois Lane — as he fights for truth, justice, and a better tomorrow. Starring David Corenswet, Rachel Brosnahan and Nicholas Hoult.

"As 'Superman' burns and barks through its slightly more-than-two-hour runtime, we get geopolitics, the swift swaying of public sentiment, a prison within a 'pocket universe' and an interdimensional rift that threatens to destroy more than Metropolis," writes Mark Meszoros of the News-Herald in his review. "It does so breathlessly, packing in too many characters and too many plot threads, resulting in a cinematic affair that is more dizzying than delightful."

"28 Years Later": Nearly three decades after the rage virus swept the U.K., a small island village maintains a safe lifestyle, with infrequent visits to the mainland. A young boy starts to get curious about what's happening on the big island.

"M3GAN 2.0": M3GAN the evil robot returns to battle AMELIA, the new killer droid in town, in this sequel.

"Flow": This Latvian movie about a cat and other animals trying to survive a flooding world took home the 2025 Oscar for best animated film.

"The Home": Pete Davidson stars in this horror flick as a troubled man sent to work in a retirement home to avoid jail time, where he uncovers a bunch of grisly secrets.

"40 Acres": A dystopion action-horror film about an isolated family fending off cannibals in the Canadian wilderness after a pandemic, war and famine.

"The Last of Us: The Complete Second Season": Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey return as Joel and Ellie, respectively, with Kaitlyn Dever joining as Abby, in HBO's adaptation of the post-apocalyptic video game series.

"Masterpiece Mystery!: The Marlow Murder Club Season 2": Three British women, who form an unlikely team of amateur sleuths, dig up new cases in the second season of this PBS mystery show.

"Watson: Season One": Morris Chestnut stars as Dr. Watson — yes, Sherlock’s old pal — who now gets to be at the forefront of his own CBS medical procedural.

"Barron's Cove": A man with a violent past kidnaps the son of a powerful area politician he believes is responsible for his own child's death in this thriller.

"The Sound of Music": Celebrating its 60th anniversary, the award-winning movie musical starring Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer has been restored and remastered on 4K Ultra HD.

"Misericordia": Criterion Premieres release of French filmmaker Alain Guiraudie's 2024 comic thriller centered on a man returning to a small village for a funeral.
