Dolly Parton shared an emotional update about life after the death of her husband Carl Dean.

The country music legend got choked up while speaking about the loss, nearly two months after Dean died at the age of 82. “Oh, you know what, I get very emotional when people bring it up,” Parton said in an interview with "Today." “We were together 60 years. I’ve loved him since I was 18 years old. It is a big adjustment, just trying to change patterns and habits.”

She continued, “I’ll do fine, and I’m very involved in my work and that’s been the best thing that could happen to me. But I’ll always miss him, of course, and always love him.”

The “I Will Always Love You” singer also mentioned her gratitude for the outpouring of support she’s received during her time of grieving.

“I’m so thankful. I’ve gotten so many cards, letters, flowers, from all over the world,” she said and jokingly added. “I had no idea Carl Dean was so famous.”

Parton also reflected on a viral moment she recently shared with an overjoyed fan at one of her Dollywood parades shortly after Dean’s passing. “I got very emotional that day after the parade because there was just so much love like that,” she explained. “Right after I had lost Carl and I was just so bottled up with emotion, and I got in the van and just boo-hooed for the longest time, just feeling all that love and emotion.”

In March, Parton released a heartfelt ballad titled “If You Hadn’t Been There,” where she thanks Dean for always standing by her side.

“You made me drеam/ More than I dared,” she sings. “And I wouldn’t be hеre/ If you hadn’t been there.”
