Rosie O’Donnell says her therapist helped her plan her move to Ireland when her old rival Donald Trump was elected to a second term as U.S. president.

Still in the process of applying for Irish citizenship, O’Donnell said she didn’t think Trump had a shot at returning to the White House in 2025. When he did, she sought professional help.

“I never thought he would win again,” the 63-year-old comedian told the New York Times. “I said, ‘If he does, I’m going to move.’ And my therapist said, ‘Well, let’s make a real plan.’”

O’Donnell noted that Trump’s first term in office was a debilitating time for her, and she worried it would only be worse with the lack of “guardrails” in his second administration.

O’Donnell and Trump have sniped at each other for years. Things got particularly ugly during 2016 presidential debates when he was asked to defend referring to women as fat pigs and slobs.

“Only Rosie O’Donnell,” he replied to thunderous applause from supporters.

Trump and O’Donnell’s feud was reignited last month when Irish leader Micheál Martin visited the White House and was asked by a MAGA reporter why Ireland allowed O’Donnell to move there, shortly after she posted a TikTok video announcing the Emerald Isle was her new home.

Martin didn’t appear to know what the reporter was refencing.

“Do you know who she is? You’re better off not knowing her,” Trump told the prime minister.

O’Donnell later said she sent a letter to Martin apologizing for that awkward encounter, but hasn’t heard anything back.
