Journey's drummer Deen Castronovo was "literally on fire" at their cancelled Houston gig.

The rock band were five songs in and performing their biggest hit, 'Don't Stop Believin'', at Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo 2025 on Friday (03.14.25) when a fire broke out underneath the stage forcing them to abruptly end the set.

The power and sound cut off mid-song and fans sang the chorus before the gig was halted.

The sticksman later took to Instagram to address what went down.

He penned: "Hey, Houston! An act of God tonight! Fire broke out underneath the stage--right under my drum riser!

"I was literally on fire for 4 ½ songs, all the power cables melted, and the show was a BUST! That doesn't mean we won't be back soon, because we love you all--and WE WILL RETURN! #dontstopbelievin

God bless you all! (sic)"

The band did in fact return to the stage on Sunday (16.03.25) at the Yaamava' Theater, in Highland, California.

A statement given by the event's organizers read: "Due to an unforeseen electrical incident under the stage area, we regretfully announce the cancellation of tonight's Journey concert. We sincerely apologize to all fans for this disappointment.

"Our team is working diligently to assess the situation, and we will provide updates regarding rescheduling options and refunds as soon as possible."

Fortunately, it appears no one sustained any injuries from incident.
