Hunter Biden will face a hearing later this month to determine whether he is suspended as a member of the Connecticut bar.

Biden, the son of former President Joe Biden, was convicted on federal tax and gun charges in 2024. Following those convictions, he agreed to be disbarred in Washington, D.C., where he lives.

Before he was sentenced, he received a sweeping pardon from his father.

The Office of Chief Disciplinary Counsel, the Connecticut office that prosecutes attorney misconduct, sought his disbarment in the state.

Biden agreed to be disbarred over the convictions in Connecticut in October, but one of the grievance complainants “would like to be heard,” Leanne M. Larson, first assistant chief disciplinary counsel, said Monday.

Grievances were filed because the agreement cites misconduct — not Biden’s criminal acts — as the reason for the disbarment.

He is not licensed to practice law in any other state, according to the Center for American Rights, which filed one of the grievances against Biden.

Arguments will be heard Dec. 15 at state Superior Court in Waterbury.

Biden, 55, join the Connecticut bar in 1997, a year after graduating from Yale Law School.
