Donald Trump comments on Kate Middleton's looks during UK visit
Published in News & Features
Upon Donald Trump’s arrival in the U.K. on Wednesday, the president was heard making a comment about Kate Middleton’s appearance.
The President and first lady Melania Trump were greeted by the Prince and Princess of Wales moments after stepping off Marine One to the grounds of Windsor Castle.
As the couples shook hands, Trump told Princess Kate, “You’re beautiful, so beautiful.”
Trump previously made similar comments about Prince William’s appearance during his one-on-one meeting with the Prince of Wales in 2024, describing the throne’s heir as “very handsome.”
The president’s trip to the U.K. comes after an invitation from King Charles for a state visit. Trump joined the royal family for a procession that featured dozens of carriages, 1,300 military personnel, 120 horses.
On Thursday, the leaders are expected to meet and discuss policy related matters including a Russia-Ukraine peace deal as well as a multibillion-dollar technology deal.
Meanwhile, Trump’s visit sparked protests across the U.K. before the president even arrived. Four people have already been arrested this week after videos of Trump and Jeffrey Epstein were projected onto the walls of Windsor Castle.
King Charles’ brother, Prince Andrew, has faced accusations of being one of Epstein’s clients. Virginia Giuffre, one of Epstein’s victims — who died by suicide in April — alleges that Epstein introduced her to Prince Andrew and that he sexually abused her three times. The Prince ultimately reached a settlement with Giuffre out of court.
Prince Andrew stepped back from his Royal duties in 2019 amid the scandal.
Earlier this month, Giuffre’s brother called for Trump to release the remaining Epstein files. The White House responded with a statement saying, “The Fake News continues playing into the hands of the Democrat Hoax trying to link President Trump and Epstein.”
It continued: ”It’s not news that Epstein knew Donald Trump, because Donald Trump kicked Epstein out of his club for being a creep.”
This marks Trump’s second state visit to the U.K.
